About the #GivingTuesday with Visioneers

As promised in our last blog entry about the #GivingTuesday, we are keen to tell you more about our #GivingTuesday event. Let us first of all say: It was a really lovely and memorable day for everyone involved.

#GivingTuesday with Visioneers was all about creativity. In the morning, we made our way to a

refugee home with a couple of wayfair employees, who had decided to work with us as

Corporate Volunteers. We then took a group of over 35 unaccompanied refugees, who had registered for our arts and craft workshop, from the refugee home to Café Connections in Berlin’s Schöneberg. There our volunteers Julia, from Funkelfaden, and Victoria had already prepared everything that is needed for a relaxed afternoon of arts and craft. With expert help, the teenage refugees created their own notebooks, which made everyone quite proud of at the end.

In the afternoon, the workshop continued with a sewing session, where our experts taught a smaller group of teenage refugees how to make their own pencil cases. There was a wide choice of a number of different fabrics so that everyone could find their favourite colours and patterns.

In addition to the arts and craft workshop, #GivingTuesday also marked the opening of a photo exhibition in Café Connections with selected works from Paul Schärf, who has captured our last events in outstanding photographs. To complement this great afternoon, there was also a small buffet with delicious home-made cakes, waffles, biscuits and fresh sandwiches.

VISIONEERS would like to thank everyone who took the time and contributed to our

#GivingTuesday in any way. Also a very special thank you to Café Connections for the continued support.
